AI Overview

AIMost teams finish fast and call the puzzles simple and linear. The live actor boosts excitement, but availability and extra fees confuse guests and the interaction can be brief. Staff walking in for hints or time checks breaks immersion for several groups. Build feels light, with a lighting-contrast gripe and even a broken lock reported.
WeaknessesExtra charges or fine print around the actor frustrate people, and mid-game staff entries kill the vibe. Decor reads basic, with one mention of broken locks and another of poor contrast. There aren’t photo ops.
StrengthsWhen present, the actor adds energy and tension. Clear flow makes it easy for first-timers and mixed groups. A couple of set bits land, like the comic-book section.
SecuritySeveral groups noted abrupt staff entries for hints or time calls and a case of broken locks, but no serious safety issues beyond immersion breaks. Low lighting can make some visuals harder to read.
Level of fearScares sit in the mild-to-moderate range, with the actor delivering most of the jumps. Fine for teens and cautious adults; horror veterans may want more intensity.
Actors' gameReviews say the performer ups the thrill but can be short-lived or missing on certain deals or days, sometimes for just one task. Clearer scheduling and value would help.
Quality of riddlesStraightforward, entry-level puzzles that veterans tear through; mostly fair. One visual task suffers from dim lighting and low contrast. Expect clean, linear progress over big aha moments.
PlotYou’re racing out of Dr. X’s lab before the virus becomes your problem. The story is light and mostly there to frame the rooms.
Difficulty levelEasy overall and well-suited to beginners; large or experienced teams may breeze it. The actor spices things up but doesn’t add much challenge.

We paid extra on the weekend for the live actor—$10 per person—and they showed up for maybe five minutes to do a single task. Not worth the upcharge. Most puzzles felt medium, but one was tough only because the lighting and contrast were poor. Game masters walked in to call time and were curt during debrief. Light recommendation at best.

Our experienced team cleared it in about 27 minutes and set a record. Puzzles were pretty simple, and we didn’t have an actor. I wouldn’t suggest this one without the actor, and the Groupon deal skips them, so you trade price for experience.

We bounced off broken locks and a clunky hint system. The game master barged in, asked what we needed, then dropped a vague clue—total immersion breaker. The zombie even told us to go back into another room while he stepped out. Very awkward.

We had a blast. The live actor gave it some punch, puzzles were clear and linear, and our group of eight escaped with around 25 minutes left. Definitely on the easy side, but still a good time.

Between an extra charge talk for the actor and a sticky lock, the magic kind of fizzled. The set looked bare in spots and we were done quickly. Not terrible, just not worth the premium for us.

Beginner room vibes for sure. Our mostly new group finished fast, got a few tame scares, and noticed the sets were lightly dressed. It felt intentionally easy to fit newcomers, and the mood was okay but not intense.

Staff popping in for time and hints kept yanking us out of the mood. One puzzle was hard to see because of the lighting. We finished, but the atmosphere never fully clicked.

Having staff knock or walk in to tell the time killed the vibe for me. The puzzles were super basic. Worth it on a $15 promo, not much more.

Booked with the actor and it absolutely woke the room up. Jumped a couple times, then cruised through clean, linear puzzles. Great starter horror room, quick and satisfying. We were out with plenty of time left.

No photo spot, the set looked cheap, and I got bored halfway through. Middling at best.

Went on a promo night with no actor and still had a decent time. Very basic but smooth, and our first-timer loved it. For the price, it worked.

Save your cash and escape the venue instead. The only bit I liked was the comic-book area; everything else fell flat.

Good gateway scare. Our newer friends felt brave, we veterans felt fast. Simple flow, a few solid reveals, and out we went. Not epic, still fun.
