AI Overview

AIMost players loved the immersive set, moody audio, and the feeling of moving through a large, connected space. Scares lean on loud jumps and air bursts rather than gore, so it’s tense but manageable for many. Puzzles are varied and generally logical, though a few clues feel hidden or a bit opaque. Staff experiences vary from stellar, tone-setting GMs to occasional unwanted nudges or brusque hosting.
WeaknessesLighting can be dim and lanterns aren’t always strong, which can strain eyes. Some players disliked repetitive air-blast jump scares and occasional tech hiccups. A few reported overbearing hinting or the odd red herring/obscure step.
StrengthsGreat theme execution with sound, lighting, and props selling the abandoned-asylum vibe. Solid puzzle mix with satisfying connections and plenty of teamwork. Flow is mostly smooth and the story ties tasks together well.
SecurityBriefing warns about loud jump scares and startling air effects, and staff steps in fast if tech misfires. It’s dim but not pitch black, and you get lanterns; note it can feel cold inside.
Level of fearCreepy and jumpy rather than extreme; teens and horror fans should be fine. If you spook easily, the constant stingers may overshadow the fun.
Actors' gameNo live actors inside, but sound design and effects create that watched feeling. GMs set the mood well for many groups, though a few mentioned curt hosts or unsolicited hints.
Quality of riddlesMix of locks and moderate tech with good variety; most solutions feel fair and on-theme. A couple steps are well hidden or slightly leap-y, but enthusiasts still call it coherent. Semi-linear with back-and-forth moments that let groups divide and reconnect.
PlotYou’re investigating Shadow Point and tracing Nellie Baure’s rampage through the west wing while dodging her lingering presence. The narrative threads through rooms and reveals the asylum’s past without heavy exposition.
Difficulty levelMedium to hard for beginners, smoother for experienced teams. Best with 4–6, but the footprint can handle larger groups who like to split up.

This was one of the scariest rooms I’ve done, and the jumps totally rattled me even though they warn you beforehand. If you don’t scare easily, you’ll love the quality puzzles. If you do, maybe skip it—I couldn’t relax enough to enjoy the flow.

No actors, yet it still felt like someone was right behind us the whole time. The audio and layout are ace, and the puzzles clicked in a really satisfying way. We left grinning and a little hoarse from yelping. Highly recommend.

Really nice ambiance and storytelling that put us in investigator mode. Mostly linear, no live actors, but the scares still landed. Big footprint with plenty to do, and our GM was quick when a prop hiccuped.

Felt like an actual haunted asylum, with spot-on sound and a ton of chances to collaborate. Puzzles were engaging without being obtuse, and it might be my favorite at this venue.

Fun, but my first-timer friend was too spooked and the low light made it tough for her to contribute. My partner and I solved most of it and still finished early. Not ideal for absolute beginners, but the nonlinearity shines with a bigger group. The lantern could be brighter.

Delightfully spooky with a clean narrative through-line. Even as a linear room, it never felt dull, and everything made sense. A few jumps to watch out for, but nothing over the top.

Good room with strong theming, but the air bursts got old and our GM nudged us when we didn’t ask. Still, the flow was solid and we finished with time to spare. Worth doing if you like spooky without gore.

Surprisingly great for a linear game. There’s a lot of back-and-forth that keeps it lively, the story threads together cleanly, and the few jump scares add zing without taking over.

Well-decorated and creepy in the best way, but we kept getting “nudges” before we even dug into puzzles. We still escaped with time left, which makes me think we could have enjoyed more struggle if the hints were only on request.

Atmospheric and mostly non-linear with clues tucked away cleverly. The hiddenness slowed us down but still felt fair once found. Enjoyed the story and the light scares.

Set in a decrepit asylum, this room leans into psychological tension with a fun blend of locks and tech. The jump scares spice things up without being extreme. It’s pretty dark for ambiance, but the lanterns do the job.

Great teamwork room. Lots of handoffs and back-and-forth between spaces so everyone stays busy. Puzzles made sense and tied back to the story nicely. Would totally replay with a bigger crew.

Creepy, chilly, and very dim. The lanterns helped but I still wished for a brighter light now and then. Fun overall, with a couple honest jump scares that got me good.

Cool mix of tech with a lot of loud air-blast jump scares. Fun the first time, grating after the fourth, and a bit rough on the ears. Still a solid spooky experience overall.

If you’re easily scared, be warned: the loud pops kept me on edge and I struggled to focus on puzzles. My group loved it, though, and carried us through. Mixed bag for me, but not a bad room.
