About the escape room
In the late 19th century, during an ill-fated Halloween service, the deranged minister of Crickley Church decided to kill his entire congregation after their confessions had convinced his twisted mind that they had, among themselves, committed the 7 Deadly Sins. In order to punish them for their sins, the evil minister passed around poisoned bread and wine. As the congregation choked on their last breaths, the minister incited a curse on the children playing in the rooms beneath the church, and then buried himself alive in the church’s hidden crypt, determined to haunt the church forevermore. Your Great Grandfather was one of those innocent children. You began to think back on the mysterious deaths of family members and close friends ever since that fateful night. Trawling the many ancestry websites to gather your evidence leads to a terrifying conclusion. Every year on Halloween someone related to a member of the congregation dies an unnatural death. As you study the pattern of these accidents and the people involved you discover that you are next - and time is running out... In your panic, you contact the American Paranormal Society and they have told you that the only way to end the curse is to find the body of the evil minister and drive a sacred dagger through the remnants of his heart. This will lift the curse, and the souls of the victims will finally be able to rest in peace. Not wishing to take on such a daunting task alone, you have convinced your bravest friends to race to Crickley with you, break into the abandoned Church and find the hidden crypt. You enter the churchyard at 11 pm and the iron gates immediately slam shut behind you, locking you inside. The minister seems to be playing one last trick on you. Can you complete your mission and escape the church before the clock strikes Midnight? Or will you fulfill the curse and your name be the next on a headstone in your family’s graveyard plot? Find the hidden crypt, find the dagger, and drive it through the heart of the evil minister. Then and only then you will be saved and will destroy the curse forever. Be brave... Stay calm... Work together... But remember... Time is of the essence...

Brief assessment
Navigator AI
Go for the moody Victorian-church vibes, a deadly curse to break, and a last-minute dash to midnight. It’s story-first, creepy, and high-energy when it counts.

AI Overview

AIPlayers love the atmosphere and narrative drive, often calling the set and climax immersive and thrilling. Game masters earn praise for timely nudges, with one guide called out by name for being brilliant. Puzzles are a mixed bag: generally clever but with one notorious step many find unintuitive. Overall sentiment is positive, though several groups felt the difficulty rating should be higher.
WeaknessesOne specific puzzle is widely considered unfair or opaque, with many teams needing help. Some connections feel too obscure, prompting more hints than expected. A few players think it’s labeled easier than it actually is.
StrengthsRich theme and set dressing make the church feel alive and menacing. The plot ramps up into a frantic, memorable finish. Supportive GMs keep the pace moving without spoiling the fun.
SecurityNo safety issues are mentioned in the reviews. GM oversight and prompt assistance are noted, which keeps the run feeling controlled even when the tension spikes.
Level of fearCreepy and tense with a few jumpy moments, but not gore-heavy. Likely too intense for younger kids or very scare-averse players.
Actors' gameNo live actors are mentioned in the reviews, but the GM interaction is highlighted as friendly, responsive, and professional. Nudges on request help groups see the whole experience without stalling.
Quality of riddlesA mix of logical solves and out-of-the-box leaps, with variety across the room. The majority land well, but one puzzle is repeatedly called out as obtuse and near-impossible without help. Expect to use hints if you prefer straightforward logic.
PlotYou’re racing through a cursed 19th‑century church to find the hidden crypt and end the minister’s reign. The narrative threads through the puzzles and builds to a hectic, satisfying climax.
Difficulty levelLeans hard, especially for smaller teams or late-night slots. Best for experienced groups or first-timers comfortable asking for hints.

The story sucked us right in and by the finale we were literally running and yelling. Set and mood are strong, but several puzzles felt so obtuse that hints were unavoidable. I want those aha moments, not the head-scratch of why that was the intended logic—still a fun, thrilling room I’d recommend.

A gorgeous, gloomy set with a story that actually matters. Our GM kept the nudges subtle so we never lost momentum, and the finale had us sprinting. Totally worth it for theme lovers.

We had fun, but one puzzle made zero sense and required a walkthrough from the GM. They even said every team needs help on that exact step, and we were still confused after the explanation. Everything else was solid.

Entertaining room with a great flow, and our game guide Amy was lovely—professional, patient, and spot-on with gentle nudges when we asked. Most puzzles were clever and satisfying. I’d recommend it.

This room creeped me out in the best way, with tension the whole time. My only gripe is one puzzle that felt nearly impossible without the GM’s help, and others I spoke to agreed.

Connections between steps were pretty opaque at times. I’d rate this harder than advertised because so many solves required big leaps in thinking.

Tough but a blast. Some puzzles click immediately, others make you dig and connect threads, which was rewarding. We escaped with five minutes left and I’d happily run it again now that I know the lay of the land.

Fun overall, but one puzzle felt like guesswork and stalled us until we asked for help. The rest was clever, just more abstract than I prefer.

Tight, tense, and very story-driven. We had to think sideways a lot, but the payoffs landed and the last room was electric. Big thumbs up.

Atmosphere is on point—creepy without being gross. We left buzzing and a little shaky in the best way.

Did a late slot and my brain felt mushy, but we still had a blast. The room looks fantastic, just be ready to ask for a clue on the tricky bit.

Super immersive vibe and a lot of fun. Doing a late slot was on me—my brain checked out—but the room still delivered.
