How scary is the horror escape room?

Horror escape rooms are the adrenaline level of the escape room world. In addition to puzzles, they use darkness, sound design, jump scares, and sometimes live actors to keep your pulse racing for a whole hour. In St. Louis, you'll find everything from atmospheric mystical stories to extreme horror where an actor might touch you.

Each room on Escape Navigator has a fear level from 1 to 5. If you're new to the genre, start with a "mystical" room (level 2–3): tense but without aggressive jump scares. Experienced players should look for level 4–5 rooms with actors — that's where true fear lives.

Most horror rooms allow players aged 16–18 and many offer "with light" or "without actor" modes for milder sessions — check the room page or ask the operator when booking.
