AI Overview

AIPlayers consistently praise the atmosphere, set quality, and how the puzzles flow from simple to more complex. The game leans linear, which keeps direction clear but can leave extra players idle in bigger groups. Communication is key, and the finale lands well for most. A couple of notes pop up about one chemistry-style step, variable lighting, and the sub not being the flashiest compared with some other TEG hits.
WeaknessesLinearity can cramp large teams, and one test-tube/periodic-table moment often needs a hint. Lighting varies by run, and there are occasional minor maintenance hiccups or unclear fail stakes noted by a few.
StrengthsImmersive theming with strong sound design and a believable sub-to-lab journey. Puzzles feel logical, hands-on, and satisfying, with a few clever twists and a memorable finish.
SecurityBriefings are standard and staff keep a close eye on progress, stepping in fast if something misfires. No safety red flags in reviews, just the usual dim moments and a rare prop glitch handled by the GM.
Level of fearMore tense than scary. Family-friendly vibe with underwater suspense and a giant-squid presence, but no horror elements.
Actors' gameGame masters get shout-outs for being attentive, upbeat, and quick on assists, sometimes joking with teams after. Interaction is supportive rather than theatrical, and monitoring is on point.
Quality of riddlesClear, fair, and mostly tactile puzzles that ramp up nicely and reward communication. Expect traditional locks blended with neat mechanisms and multimedia touches, more classic than tech-heavy overall. The chemistry/test-tube bit is the outlier that can stall teams without a hint or science know-how.
PlotYou pilot a sub to track down Dr. Humphreys and uncover what’s really happening in his deep-sea lab. The story adds small twists and builds to an energetic, high-stakes finale without heavy spoilers.
Difficulty levelSweet spot for beginners to intermediate players; veterans still find it fun. Duos can beat it with good communication, but a few sequences get busy; 2–4 players feel ideal, while big groups may have bystanders.

We had a fantastic time from start to finish. The atmosphere pulls you in, the puzzle design feels smart and fair, and the ending lands perfectly. One of my favorite rooms we’ve played.

Yes, it’s a darker room, but the story carries you and the puzzle flow is tight. We were tired and still got stumped a few times, and a broken end step was handled instantly by the GM, so no harm done.

I liked The Depths but it’s not my top TEG room. The puzzles are solid and escalate well, with lots of teamwork moments, and the finale is exciting even if the fail stakes feel fuzzy. The set is good, just not as jaw-dropping as Gold Rush, Playground, or Special Ops.

We barely made it out, and it was awesome. Lots of communication, three distinct spaces, strong visuals, and it’s all locks and keys in a good way. Ryan, our GM, was a legend.

I’m wary of big chains, but this room felt crafted with care. Everything was well built, the logic was clean with no leaps, and our GM was lovely. Fantastic experience overall.

Some sections were tough with just two of us. The test-tube puzzle basically needed a hint unless you know your periodic table, and my partner ended up soloing near the end. Still, the sub setting and giant-squid tension were great.

Loved the vibe from the second the hatch closed. The soundtrack hums, the puzzles click, and the finale had our hearts racing. Clean logic, no weird leaps, just a smooth dive and a big finish.

Cool set and a couple of neat reveals, but it’s pretty linear. With six people, two of us were mostly watching. Would be great with three.

Flows beautifully, puzzles make sense, and the end sequence slaps. If you like hands-on stuff and a clear story, this one’s a blast.

Great pick for beginners to intermediates. The puzzles explain themselves nicely and the progression feels like a gentle checklist, with a few steps that still managed to surprise us.

This was my first TEG game and it’s still my standout. It strikes that sweet spot of casual fun with real challenge, yet the direction is always clear.

Played as a duo and mostly cruised, but that chemistry bit absolutely required a hint for us. Still, super immersive and our GM jumped in right when we needed it. Fun room overall.

We ran it as a pair and it flowed beautifully. Fair, interactive puzzles, tons to touch and turn, and it didn’t feel dark at all for us. Easy five stars from me.

Solid sub theme and the area after the sub was just as good. Communication matters here, and the room keeps you moving. Not the flashiest TEG I’ve done, but definitely worth it.

Submarine themes are popping up everywhere, and this one delivers. The sub looks great, and the space after it is just as strong, with a couple of story twists and unique puzzles that make it worth doing.
