Company No. 1 Escapes

We were impressed by how many different puzzle types they packed in, plus some fun effects and satisfying unlocks. It demanded teamwork and communication, and with four of us the difficulty felt like a meaty, fair challenge. With so much to do, bigger groups will thrive. Easily my favorite at this venue.

Loved the split start and how much talking through the wall we had to do. Once we linked up, the puzzle flow clicked and the BGM added a nice pulse. Staff was cheerful without being pushy. Would run it again with a group of four.

Gameplay felt standard for an escape room, though a couple of tools didn’t fit the period. The theme is cool, but the story delivery is flat and needs a better push than the current setup. Four is a sweet spot and six tops; we had nine and people stood around with nothing to do. Our GM was welcoming and patient, even with a slightly late start.

Brought my tween and my dad, and everyone found something to do. GM was patient, hints landed well, and that directional lock was a cute twist. Light historical vibe, zero scares—great family pick.

We had nine and spent long stretches waiting in a single small room. Some props looked tired and one lock stuck with the right code. Staff was kind; just not built for big groups.

Went in with low expectations and came out pleasantly surprised for a two‑person run. Not super high‑tech, but still fun with a few neat moments, and the discounted price made it easy to recommend. We escaped with one small nudge I missed due to my eyesight. Feels tuned for smaller groups; we’ll be back for the other room.

I like a split start since it forces you to communicate, and as a duo we did fine in a non-linear setup. The theming is okay but not mind-blowing. We got a couple unasked-for nudges, which I think came from us being a small team, so next time I’ll set expectations on hints early. For the price, it scratched the itch.

At a meetup our two strongest solvers were put in the tiny start room, cleared it in minutes, then sat waiting while the others worked. We couldn’t really help through the wall. The final sound sensor glitched, so the GM had to open for us even though we solved it. Better player placement and a reliable sensor would have helped a lot.

The split start dragged for me in the small room, while the big room had more to chew on. We also hit a few stubborn locks despite having the right combos, and a long noise-driven puzzle that felt more chore than challenge. It’s not a terrible game, just frustrating to stand around with nothing to do.

Our host was lovely, and the linear flow made sense. The room looks good overall, but some props feel low‑quality and there were typos on a few laminated sheets. Still a solid play.
